BigSkyMontana.us Buy Patrick Clark posters online. Description: The Montana Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation is pleased to announce our First Annual Children’s Handicap Hunt. Two lucky children will be selected from Montana applicants for a hunt of a lifetime. They will be hunting bull bison. This extraordinary event will be held at the 6C Bison Ranch, Gold Creek, from October 5th through October 6th, 2002. Both children and their family members will stay in a rustic cabin adjoining the 2,000-acre wilderness bison range. Spot and stock and strategically place handicapped self-standing lift stands will provide the means to take a 1,500 to 2,000 pound Trophy Bull Bison.This will truly be a Montana community and Nationally sponsored event. Four weeks before the hunt, the two children and a family members will meet with the state firearms safety officers and NWTF volunteers at the Anaconda Rifle/Pistol Club to participate in a complete review of hunter safety, qualify with the rifles, address any specific medical necessities, evaluate and adapt all equipment, firearms, wheelchairs and fit the children for their hunting outfits and orange safety vests.The October hunt will begin with a check of all equipment to include the zero of the rifles. The two hunters will be matched with their hunting teams of NWTF volunteers, state officials/representatives, and national sponsors. The day will end with a bison barbecue, entertainment, and anticipation for the next days hunt. The hunt will begin as the sun unfolds on Big Sky Country. By the end of that day the successful dreams of these children will gleam in their eyes. Following the hunt, a large portion of the bison meat will be donated to the four local area food kitchens to benefit the community for months to come.
